Are you a fan of the Dancing With The Stars show on TV? Well, here’s your chance to get into the dance competition spirit locally while supporting a worthy cause.
Ellen Karpf, wife of UK HealthCare’s Executive Vice President for Health Affairs Michael Karpf, MD, is competing in this year’s Dancing With The Lexington Stars fundraiser presented by the Lexington Rotary Endowment Fund benefitting Surgery On Sunday.
Surgery On Sunday is a nonprofit organization that provides essential outpatient surgical services for free for those in need who cannot afford insurance and who are not eligible for federal or state programs.
Mrs. Karpf has studiously practiced her sweet, sweet moves and is ready to take on her challengers at the Marriott Griffin Gate this Saturday, May 10. But dancing is only part of the competition. Help her raise funds for Surgery On Sunday by voting for her in advance. Votes cost $5 each (this is a fundraiser, after all) and can be submitted here. Every $5 vote will help someone in need receive free surgical services and put Mrs. Karpf that much closer to victory.
Good luck Ellen, and thanks to everyone voting to support her and Surgery On Sunday!
